if Haven lies to the south west from your current location, you would have to walk down and to the left to reach the exit. The spirit world was a little like the world map. Once you have powered the second portal you can enter the spirit world (dangers ahead!) and exit through the portal that connects your location with Haven. Each ruin had also some treasure containing a sigil that I could use to power the shut down portal. Usually only 1 step away from the other clans headquarter, located in a ruin. In my world every portal was quite close to another clan. To get the achievement I mentioned, you will have to power a second portal. This conversation should open a questline that you can view when you use the TABULATOR key. He will explain that this portal needs to be powered with a sigil (I think a sky sigil is it). Not in a building, but outside in the village. In Haven you should meet some kind of priest next to a device. If the player flaunts the staff to other characters, word can spread and make it easier for hunters to follow the rumors and hunt down the player quicker. Not only that but it can increase hearsay about the player to neutral NPCs. This will draw them nearer to the Wanderer and make them act more aggressively. Many creatures and hunters around the map are magically attuned and can sense when there’s a high presence of magic nearby. One impact of overusing the Staff of Yendor is that it can damage and destroy its power sources and that can increase a player’s presence. If the player uses the staff too much, the positive of being able to use magic will be balanced out by other negative effects. Any source can be used to power its destructive spells. The Wayfarer’s main goal is to destroy the staff, but along the way, they can use the weapon. There are multiple types of magic the player can cast when wielding the Staff of Yendor.
